Surfing and Waves

Every year around Easter Rip Curl holds an event at Bells Beach for WPS (World Pro Surfers). Bells Beach is a strong Right hand point break, it also breaks over reef which makes it very consistant. In 2011 Joel Parkinson battled Mick Fanning in the final but Joel finished with the win. In 2012 11 time world champion Kelly Slater battled 2 time world champion Mick Fanning in what people said was the best final at Bells Beach ever because Mick Fanning came off with the win by less than a point. At Bells Beach it is not about the barrel it is more about the tricks you can pull off like Cutbacks and Snaps.I wonder who will win next year?

Billabong Pro Teahupoo

Every year Billabong runs a event at Teahupoo, Teahupoo is located in the south west of Tahiti. It is a MASSIVE left hand tube (a wave that is very hollow and people surf in), the creepy thing about it is that it is only about 1 meter deep. Teahupoo is too big and shellow to do any stuff like cutbacks and snaps. In 2012 surfing champion Kelly Slater batteled Australian Owen Wright in the final. Owen Wright took the lead early but then the champ came back and won as usual. I wonder who will win this year?
